April 23, 1926 - June 12, 2016
Margie Lometa Haley, 90, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016. Born April 23, 1926, the daughter of Katie and Otto Schmid of Soddy-Daisy. Margie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a lifetime member of Daisy United Methodist Church. She served as the church organist for over 40 years and was active in the quilting group.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, William G. “Bill” Haley, Sr.; son, Gary Haley; grandson, Christopher Haley; brother, David Schmid and a sister, Sara L. Murvine.
She is survived by her sons, William (Candice) Jr. of Chattanooga and Mark (Michele) Haley of Knoxville; daughter, Phyllis (Steve) Hooper of Fall Branch; brothers, Freddie (Vivian) Schmid of Soddy-Daisy and Otto (Carol) Schmid of CA; grandchildren, Malinda (Mark) Benton, Brooke (Wes) Spurling, Tiffany Ford and Jessica Hooper; and great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lily, Joy and Violet Spurling, and Taylor, Jeffery, Isabella and Alexandria Ford; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Daisy United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Phillips presiding; interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
