Betty Lou Holbert, 81, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 in a local hospital. Betty was a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy where she operated her own beauty shop for over 50 years. She was a member of Daisy First Baptist Church. Betty was also employed at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Riley Holbert; daughter, Judy Green; parents, Lou and Harley Layne; brother, Sonny Layne and sister, Alma Dean Burns.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Ron) Gibson; sisters, Polly (Richard) LeCroy and Jinnie Henry; grandchildren, Steve (Michele) Coffman, Kelly (John) Williamson, Angela Saunders, Allen (Kristie) Green and Chris (Jennifer) Green; great grandchildren, Carson Coffman, Jake Livingston, Noah Livingston, Reese Saunders, Riley Saunders, Kayla Green and Corey Green; son-in-law, Bill Green; sister-in-law, Murl Layne along with several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Monday, September 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Namanny officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with B.J. Layne, Greg Henry, Rex Henry, Allen Green, Chris Green and Corey Green serving as pallbearers. Visitation is 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
