Pearl Ona Parton Elsea, 84, of Soddy Daisy, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009, in a local health care facility. A lifelong resident of Soddy Dasiy, she was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. She was born April 27, 1925 to the late Sam and Pearl Parton. Ona worked for many years at Miller Brothers and the Volunteer Army and Ammunition Plant. She was a talented cake baker and designer. She loved canning, cooking and doing for others. Ona will be missed very much. Her husband, James A. Elsea, preceded her in death. Survivors include her sister, Imogene P. Stout of Brainerd; nephews, Gary H. Stout of Phoenix, Arizona and Stan F. Stout of Cumming, Georgia; grand nephews, William H. Stout and Charles S. Stout, both of Cumming, Georgia. Services will be Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
