August 2, 1936 - January 18, 2012
Charles Albert “Buddy” Scott Sr., 75, of Soddy-Daisy walked through the pearly gate of Heaven to meet his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at a local hospital with his wife of 36 years and his son Chucky by his side. Charlie and Leida anniversary was January 20, 2012. He will have spent it looking down from Heaven and his wife looking up. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and he also retired from the Tennessee Highway Dept. of Transportation. He was raised in Sale Creek Church of God until about fifteen years ago. He joined Midway Baptist Church until about four years ago, when he got sick and could not go. He played the trombone and was superintendant for about four years. He loved to go fishing and he and his dad umpired and called ball games together. He was passed member of Jim King Post 107 American Legion and a member of Sale Creek Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Scott, parents, Raymond and Mattie Scott, half sister, Juanita Green, several aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memories is his beloved wife, Leida Scott, son and daughter-in-law, Charles “Chucky” and Wanda Scott, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Gill, Virginia and Homer Hodge, a special niece that was raised with him like a sister, step-daughter, Cyndy Stapleton of Ravenna, OH., His two dogs who he loved very much, Molly Blossom and Benji Benjam, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:30 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stanley Faulkner and the Rev. Kenneth Bolton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
