ony “Steve” Ferguson, 63, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. He passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family. Steve was born April 19, 1948 in Hixson the son of George S. and Sally Marie Hixson Ferguson, both whom preceded him in death. He served his country for 7 years in the Arizona Army National Guard. Steve was a hard working man whose greatest joy after Jesus was his large family. He had many skills and vocations, his last being a truck driver for Con-Way from 1993 until his disability in 2009 where he had many friends. To know this wonderful man was to love him. Words cannot describe how much he was loved and shall be missed forever.
Steve is survived by his loving soul mate and wife, Donna L. Ferguson; 1 son, Billy Jean; 3 daughters, Lisa Davis, Tricia Ferguson, Toni Batty all of Soddy-Daisy. He was blessed by 19 grandchildren, Joe, Deanna, Tanya, Priscilla, April, Bobbi, Josh, Jesse, Cheyenne, Jeanna “Bug”, Adam, Amanda “Gracie”, Natalee, Milana, Denver, Alexia, Skylar, Seth and Melodi; 21 great grandchildren, Shrya, Shannon, Nicole, Matthew, Cassidy, Nicholas, Tanis, Gracie, Mikie, MaKayla, Cara, Chevy, Madison, Connor, Nathan, Kahlen, Peyton, Elizabeth, Camden, Wesley “Lil Steve”, Nevaeh and one happily awaited. He leaves 1 brother, Sam Ferguson of Phoenix, AZ; 2 sisters, Georgia Danielson of Hixson and Alma Sue Stenzel of Chino Valley, AZ along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
We offer heartfelt thankfulness to Dr. Jeffrey Kemp and staff and Dr. John Forman and staff. Hospice of Chattanooga were a special blessing.
Services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
