Orpha Lusk
MONTEREY -- Orpha "Gerry" Lusk, 79, passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Lusk was born June 23, 1930, in Soddy-Daisy, to the late William John and Edith Louise Smith Clift.
She was a professional secretary, a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, a member of the Monterey Garden Club and was a past president, A member of the Monterey Senior Citizens and was chairman of the board of directors, and a member Of Friends Of Monterey Library Board. She tutored with the After Hours School Program at Uffelman Elementary School. She was an Avid quilter and taught quilting classes.
She Is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Ronnie Lusk, of Monterey; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Keith, of Soddy-Daisy, Anna Mae Skates, of Soddy-Daisy; one granddaughter, Anjela Lusk, of Sterling, Va.; two stepgranddaughters, Michele Bailey, of Stafford, Va., Patty Kinder, of Sterling, Va.; one stepgreat-grandson, Terry Cropper Jr., of Stafford, Va.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lusk; two brothers, Robert and Charles Clift.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Monterey United Methodist Church Building Fund, 124 North Holly St., Monterey, TN 38574; or The Monterey Branch Library, 401 East Commercial Ave., Monterey, TN 38574.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at 3 p.m. from Monterey United Methodist Church. Pastor James C. Johnson Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Monterey United Methodist Church on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, from 2 until the time of services at 3 p.m.
