  [S16] Obituary. November 27, 1937 - January 29, 2010 Charles Norman Petty, 72, of Soddy Daisy, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at his home. A lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy, he was of the Baptist faith. Charles retired from Coors Ceramics in Chattanooga after 40 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and watch his grandsons play sports. His wife, Lucille Sutherland Petty, father, James “Jim” Petty and brother, Bob Petty preceded him in death. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Petty; mother, Lorene Uren Petty; grandsons, James Kyle Petty and Richard Joshua Petty; brothers, Donnie Petty, Marvin Petty and David Petty; sister, Ruth Alice Greene; aunt, Mildred Gross; uncle, Charles Uren along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 1, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Lasley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rhea Memory Gardens. Rocky Sutherland, Stacy Harvey, Ervin Harvey, Jr., Jason Greene, Kevin Payne and Jeremy Edmondson will serve as pallbearers with Lance Sutherland serving as an honorary pallbearer.
