Edna Mae Correll Smith Beaver, 99, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 18, 2010, thirteen days before her One Hundredth Birthday, at her home in Soddy-Daisy. She was a lifelong resident of North Hamilton County. A retired Hamilton County School Teacher of forty-two years, a member of the Soddy United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Daisy Woman’s Club.
She was the daughter of the late John and Martha Correll. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, George Louis Smith and Clyde Beaver; sister, Irene Marsh, Belle Daughtrey, Fannie Eichorn, Johnnie Leopold; and brothers, Homer and Eddie Correll.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Betty) Smith; grandson, George (Tammy) Smith; daughter, Sherrie (Scott) Stansifer; sister-in-laws, Anna Sue Correll, Vivian Smith; six great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Kidwell & Rev. Ken Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Her nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
