  [S16] Obituary. October 15, 1932 - December 21, 2011 Johnny C. Johnston Sr., 79, of Soddy-Daisy, formally of Ringgold, GA. passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at a local health care facility. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from Combustion Engineering after 32 years of service and was a member of the Boilermakers Union. He was a member of the Buggy Unit with the Alhambra Shriners’. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Retha Johnston, sisters, Frances Harris, Betty Jo Carrell, brother, Charles Johnston. He is survived by his son, Johnny Curtis (Pam) Johnston Jr., daughter, Pamela Johnston, sisters, Maxine Shipley, Suzie McNeece, brother, Sherdian Johnston, grandchildren, Kelley Johnston, Cody and Casey Jordan, Lee and Jeremy Long, great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, and Megan Long. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lavonne Powell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
