William Shipley, 61, of Sale Creek passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his home. He was a member of Sale Creek First Baptist Church. He loved old cars, NASCAR, the Tennessee Vols, and farming. He was preceded in death by his father; Roy “Buddy” Shipley Jr., mother-in-law; Mamie McQuinn, brother-in-law; David McQuinn, uncles; Johnny Shipley, Clifton Shipley, Willard Shipley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years; Mildred Shipley, son: Tracy (Wanda) Hodge, mother; Hazel Shipley, sister; Judy Morgan, brother; Roy Jonathan (Sandra) Shipley, granddaughter; Nicole Hodge.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Sale Creek First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Weatherford and Pastor Rocky Bradford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Welsh-Rogers Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4-9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
