January 4, 1945 - March 18, 2016
Arthur R. Hoback, Jr., 71, a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy, TN, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016. He was a 1963 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School. After high school, he attended Tennessee Tech in Cookville, TN. From there he went on to work at DuPont and retired in 2002.
Arthur was an avid bowler for over fifty five years and participated in the Hoinke Bowling Tournament for twenty seven years. He was elected into the Greater Chattanooga Bowling Association Board in 1985 and served on the board for twenty three years and became a life member in 1995 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2008. He enjoyed playing golf also and took a group of men named “The Southern Gentleman” on a golf trip for over thirty years.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife and his best friend, Lila Hoback; his children, Tim (Krista) Hoback, Kristina (Rudy) York; his step-children, Gale (Steve) Johnson, Gary (Toni) Ward, Sherry (Tony) Reynolds; a sister, Faye (Jim) Maxwell; his grandchildren, Joshua (Brandi) Hoback, Matthew Hoback, Sarah Hutcheson, and Tyler Hutcheson; his step-grandchildren, Cody (Meghan) Chambers, Jody (Grace) Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Wesley Ward, Brian Ward, Marissa Bourgeios, Serena Bourgeois and Tara Bourgeios; his great-grandchild, Adilyn Hoback; his step-great-grandchildren, Emily Chambers, Hadley Johnson, Carter Chambers and Huxley Johnson and numerous friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
