December 11, 1920 - February 14, 2016
Martha McEachern Tucker, 95, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was born December 11, 1920 to the late Samuel Dixon Land and Ida Mae Thomas Land. Martha was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her memory will be cherished by all that knew her. Mother had very little of this world’s goods but what she had she was always giving to others. Martha was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd McEachern, Sr. and Edgar “Paty” Tucker; daughter, Martha Jean McNabb; granddaughter, Denise Boatfield; sisters, Margaret Murphy, Ethel Wells, Louise Brown and Berta Cowden.
Survivors include her sons, Lloyd McEachern, Jr. (Janice), Douglas McEachern (Esther), son-in-law, Keith McNabb; brother Samuel Land (Louise); grandchildren, Melody Jones, Ray Alan Smith, Michael McEachern, Robby McEachern and Sarah Elizabeth McCurry; step-grandchildren, Jenny Smith, Penny Cox, Mark McNabb, Donald McNabb, Wayne McNabb and Julie Ann McNabb; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Smith, Pastor of North Hixson Church of God officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael McEachern, Brett McEachern, Daniel Smith, Ron Cox, Ray Alan Smith and Jared McCurry. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care given to our mother. Also, a special thank you to Rev. Rick Smith for time he spent with mother during her illness. Mother loved Rev. Smith and looked forward to his visits and prayers.
A very special thanks to mother’s caregiver, Shirley Skiles. Shirley not only gave mother excellent care, she gave her love and made mother feel at home. Mother loved Shirley very much.
