January 4, 1945 - August 5, 2015
Patsy Ruth Shipley, 70, of Sale Creek, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was a member of Lake Drive Baptist Church. Patsy was a 1963 Graduate of Sale Creek High School, and she was always an avid sports fan and supporter of athletics there. She retired from Provident Life after thirty five years of service. Her greatest enjoyment was caring for her family and spending time with them.
Her father, Truitt Shipley, sister, Virginia Jo Holloway and a brother, Sgt. Thomas F. Shipley, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her mother, Lucille Shipley Ewing; step-father, Billy Ewing; brother, Bill (Freida) Shipley; sisters, Martha (Larry) Cates, Debbie (Warren) Hill; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many cousins, extended family members, and many close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor David Haynes officiating. Visitation will be 4:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will be meeting at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Spivey Cemetery for the burial.
Her family wants to offer a special thanks to Brenda and Gretchen with Home Healthcare of East Tennessee and Hospice; Dr. Schlabach and the 7th floor staff at Erlanger Hospital and Dr. Daniel Black and the staff at the Sale Creek Clinic.
