Funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Thomas M. Firestone officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Church. Visitation 2PM-8PM Friday and 10AM Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Gerald was born in Flint on March 5, 1936, the son of the late Luther and Myrtle (Hill) Lewis. Gerald attended church at St. John Vianney Church. He was employed with AC Spark Plug Plant #7 for 35 years retiring in 1991 and was also a member of UAW Local 651. He was a man who was always there for his family. He loved to walk the nature walks where he enjoyed the wildlife animals. Gerald always liked joking around. Surviving are children, Diana Johnson, Vickie Sheltraw and (Harvey Hall), Gerald L. Lewis and (Berta Hamilla) and Donald T. and wife Karla Lewis; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grand-children; many nieces and nephews; good friends, Joanne and Boguslaw Boskowicz.
