Ruth Marie Elsea, 97, of Sale Creek, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Elsea; parents, Fred and Ruth Shipley; brother, Truitt Shipley; and sister, Juanita Marler. She was a member of the Sale Creek United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Grady (Alice) Elsea of Hixson; Dean (Bobby) Carmack of Sale Creek; Wanda (Don) Sneed of Evensville; and Nancy (Ray) Purser of Sale Creek; and two granddaughters, Cindy Carmack of Hixson, and Allison Russell of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 29, 2013, at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Burial will be Saturday morning, November 30, at 11:00 A.M. at New Providence Cemetery.
