  [S16] Obituary. May 3, 1928 - March 3, 2014 Marshall Layne, 85, of Hixson, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Hixson and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Marshall retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed life. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Elsie Mae Layne; sons, Herchel Layne and Norman Layne (Joy); grandson, Christopher Layne and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery with Chris Mason, Eddie Holland, Jeff Wall, Lebron Patton, Cody Collins and Tim Wilson serving as pallbearers. Visitation is Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
