  [S16] Obituary. Warren A. Pierce, age 72, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010, at St. Joseph Jessamine Hospital in Nicholasville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie King officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Knot Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic service to be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Pierce was born in McCreary County on December 22, 1937, a son of the late Jesse Oliver "J.O." and Nellie Hamby Pierce. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Johnnie, Charles Robert and Jesse Willard Pierce and the mother of his son, Mary Faye Stephens. Surviving family include his wife Helen R. York Pierce of Nicholasville, his son Timothy Warren (and Penney) Pierce of Nicholasville and a step daughter Donna Brewer of Sadieville, Kentucky. There are three sisters Ona Ison of Columbus, Georgia, Margaret (and Herb) King of Orange City, Florida, and Wilma (and Jimmy) Moses of Huber Heights, Ohio. Warren had two grandchildren, Tyler Pierce and Chris Collings, along with numerous nieces and nephews. After working for 30 years, Mr. Pierce retired from AT & T as a systems installer. He served his country in the United States Army, was a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F & A M Orie S Ware 874, Stearns, the Order of the Eastern Star Laurel Heights Chapter 288, Stearns, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J. 32 degree, The Oleika Shriners of Lexington, and the Perryville Baptist Church. He had enjoyed hiking and reading and spending time with his family
