    Jess E. Penney, age 73, of 10937 Old Dayton Pike, Soddy, died in aChattanooga hospital Thursday morning. He was a member of the SoddyUnited Methodist Church and the Fellowship Class, the Soddy Masonic LodgeNo 418 F&AM and was a past officer of the Dayton Boulevard MerchantsAssociation. Mr. Penney was a retired appliance dealer in Red Bank.
    Survivors are his wife Mrs. Dora Penney of Soddy; two sons, TomPenney of Chattanooga, and Earle Penney of Hixson; one daughter, Mrs.James (Marilyn) Glasser of Atlanta; two brothers, Wilburn Penney of St.Petersburg, Florida, and James Penney of Chesterfield, South Carolina;one sister, Mrs. Horace Abernathy of Soddy; three grandchildren, ThomasEarle Penney, Leigh Ann Penney and Julie Laine Glasser; also severalnieces and nephews.
    Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Soddy United MethodistChurch, with Reverend Tom Lynch, Reverend George Wampler, Reverend HarryHight officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Penney, Joe EdElliott, Bill Woosman, E. B. Crites, Earl Lee Frazier and RobertJenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Men's Fellowship class of thechurch, Soddy Masonic Lodge No. 418 F&AM, Dr. Martin Caldwell, PaulSmith, Ralph Griggs, Harold Grigsby, John Greff, Reverend David Jickia,Reverend Don Lasley, Mrs. Dorothy King, John McGee, Leland Gann and ReeceWalters.     Dora Penney
    Dora Bond Penney, 89, of the Atlanta area for the past 28 years, andformerly of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005. Her husband,Jess Earle Penney, preceded her in death.
    Ms. Penney was a former member of Soddy United Methodist Church andwas currently a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church. Shewas a life member of United Methodist Women's Society. She was agraduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and she taught for25 years at Soddy Elementary School. Her memberships also included lifemembership of the Parent-Teacher Association and the Hamilton CountyRetired Teachers Association.
    She is survived by her sons, Tom Penney, Orlando, Florida; EarlPenney, Soddy-Daisy; Marilyn Cheney, Centerville, Georgia; grandchildren,Thomas Earle Penney, Leigh Ann Sellers, Julie Glasser Stebbins, BrennenGlasser, Tyson Glasser, Melissa Lee Penney; and one great-grandchild,Jessa Grace Stebbins.
    The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2005, in thechapel of Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with the Reverend George Wamplerofficiating. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today. Arrangements are byWilliamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee37379.
