Mrs. Sophronia Penney James 89, Soddy Tennessee, died Thursday at theresidence. She was a member of Soddy First Baptist Church. Survivingare three sons, Jess E. Penney, Soddy; James R. Penney, Chesterfield,South Carolina; Wilburn Penney, St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter,Mrs. Blanche Abernathy, Soddy, with whom she resided; 10 grandchildren;several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Saturdayfrom the Soddy First Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend J. C.Noland and the Reverend J. v. Angel. Interment will follow in the EastSoddy Church of God Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Thebody will remain at the funeral home.
