Thomas Harry Hatfield, 90, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1921 to the late William Browning and Alice Hatfield. He was a retired over the road truck driver after many years of service. He was a member of 50 years at Guiding Light Community Chapel and was fondly remembered as the Mayor of Lovell Rd. due to his continued support and participation with the City of Soddy-Daisy. He was an avid musician with a love of music and a Deacon of his church. He was a beloved father, honored by having 5 generations in his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 10 brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Kathleen McAfee Hatfield, sons, Eddy and Gary Hatfield of Soddy-Daisy, Randy Hatfield of Chattanooga, daughters, Nancy (Walt) Davis, Kathy (Lloyd) Young, Mary Ann Oliver all of Soddy-Daisy, Sherri (Roy) Styles of Sale Creek, 13 grandchildren, Jeanie, Paul (Trish), Jody, Walt Jr. (Sally), Mandy, Chad, Candi, Joey, Brian, Michael, Britany (Eli), Anoy, and Heelie, 11 great-grandchildren, Roman, Thad (Brittany), Jacob, Lavren, Kelsey, Hanna, Katie Bell, Kaitlyn, Elijah, Caleb, and Pixie, 4 great-great-grandchildren, Wayde, Lexie, Lex, and Axel.
Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Vernon Sneed, the Rev. Grant Chauncy, and the Rev. Clyde Fox officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-9 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
