Robert Mark “Bob” Johnson, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2015. He was 76.
Bob was born in Dayton, Tennessee, on January 31, 1939, and attended Bryan College. After serving in the Navy he returned to Dayton, married, and worked briefly for the Rhea Co Area News before moving to Lenoir City, Tennessee and starting his career in the copier/computer sales business. In 1967 the family moved to Hixson, Tennessee. He also worked with his son, Ryan, making knives and historical tomahawks, a work he loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Gertrude Johnson, and brothers, Bill (Clara) and Johnny (Nonie).
He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Glenna Hamaker Johnson; two sons, Darren (Kathy) and Ryan (Karen); and five granddaughters: Bethany, Emma, Hannah, Sarah Kate, and Esther; and his sister, Jeanne (Eddie McCoy), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and burial details will be announced once they are known.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Green Beret Foundation or charity of your choice.
