He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Dunlap Church of God and was a Veteran of WW II and received the Purple Heart . Preceded by, parents, Gus and Pearl Smith Sims, brothers, George, Louis, Sam, Bill and Donald Sims, sisters, Betty Hobbs, Katherine Lowery and Nellie Kerley. Survivors include, his wife of 68 years, Louise Land Sims, sons, Lloyd (Linda) Sims, Randy (Pam) Sims, all of Dunlap, 2 grandchildren, Anita (Doyle) Allen and Joseph ( Jackie) Sims, step-grandchild, Randi Holland, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. CDT Friday in Ewton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Doyle Allen and Rev. Sonny Wilkes officiating. Burial in Cordell Cemetery. Visitation 4 - 8 Thursday and 4 - 6 Friday.
