He was WWII Army Veteran; serving in the European Theatre and received a Purple Heart. Morris was also a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church, was retired from Combustion Engineering Company and loved hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and especially his dog, Champ. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Ella Hixson Mills, parents, Harry and Ruth Mills, sister, Betty Planzer, and brothers, Reece and Sam Mills. His sister, Beverly Heard, of Soddy Daisy, a special friend, Truman “Mac” McCamy, as well as several nieces and nephews, survive him. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Jeff Gann presiding. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors.
