  [S16] Obituary. September 10, 1951 - July 1, 2011 Michael William “Mike” Higgins, 59, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 in a local hospital. He was a resident of Soddy-Daisy for 25 years and a retired electrician from the I.B.E.W. Local #175 after many years of service. Mike was preceded in death by his father, George Higgins and his brother, Tommy Higgins. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Julia Massey Higgins; sons, Josh Higgins, Ooltewah and Daniel Higgins, Morresville, N.C.; daughter, Sara Beth Higgins, Brooklyn, NY; mother, Martha Higgins, Chattanooga; brother, Ricky Higgins, Apison; sister, Beverly Lewis, Hixson; grandchildren, Emily Feist and Amelia Kate Higgins; god child, Sadie Hoy along with several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
