Lois Virginia Rigsby Nelson, 76, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family with all her heart. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Virginia Rigsby; husband, Charles A. Nelson, Sr.; brother, Bud Rigsby and sisters, Louise Clayton and Bessie Payne.
Survivors include her sons, Charles A. (Sheila) Nelson, Jr., Eddie (Melissa) Nelson and Ernie (Tammy) Nelson; daughters, Cathy Thompson and Patty Burchard; grandchildren, Andy (Jamie) Nelson, Christy Nelson, Amber (Patrick) Mullins, Ben (Laura) Nelson, Jacob Nelson, Rachel Burchard, Vivian Burchard, Michael Burchard, Christi (Josh) Sparks; great grandchildren, Bailey, Caleb, Kirsten, Madeline, Grace, Melody, Meadow, Molly, Shyan, Zachary, Landon, Luke and Jocelyn along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Seton Tomyn officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
