Leslie A. “Les” Thompson, 80, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. Les was a member of the North Hamilton Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and he retired from the 3M Company.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Thompson; a brother, Jay Thompson and his parents, James & Lola Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Rawlston Thompson; step-sons, Gary & Pam Van Zant of Chickamauga, GA, Bill & Billie Jean Brown of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Curtis & Eulene Thompson of Soddy-Daisy, Gerald & Judy Thompson of Chattanooga, Bill Thompson of Bledsoe County; sister, Ruby Brown of Hixson; grandchildren, David Van Zant, Heath Brown, Mike Richardson , Angie Reese and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2011at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Minister Bill Greer & Minister David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 TO 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 11:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the service.
