  [S16] Obituary. May 3, 1936 - July 16, 2014 Harold D. Payne, 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at home. He was retired from TVA, and a U.S. Marine veteran having served in the Korean War. He loved God, his country, and his family. He never met a stranger and was always in high spirits. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Russell Payne, and a daughter, Mariam Rosser. Survivors include his wife, Rosanna Payne; daughters, Beth (Robby) Fraley of Soddy-Daisy; Sylvia Hillshirem of Minnesota; son, Steven Auerbach of Akron, Ohio; grandsons, Asher Fraley, Ryan Auerbach, Joseph Hillshirem; and granddaughter, LeAnn Auerbach. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 20, 2014, in the chapel with Rev. Alan Rogers and Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Marine military honors on Monday, July 21, at 2:30 P.M. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, from 3:00 until 5:00 and on Sunday, July 20, from 12:00 Noon until the time of service (3:00 PM) at the funeral home.
