November 3, 1932 - August 10, 2014
Frankie Roseland Penney McRee, 81, lifelong resident of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away on August 10, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
Frankie was active and recognized for her accomplishments and service to her community and was president of the local AARP chapter. She was especially active in young children’s activities at the Soddy Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school and planned activities. Among her hobbies were gardening and creating scrapbooks that created lasting memories for selected athletes from UTC.
Frankie was survived by her husband of 62 years, AB McRee III. She is also survived by her daughters, Karen McRee Mathis (Richard) of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Joan McRee of Columbia, SC and grandchildren Lee Mathis of Birmingham, AL and Erica Mathis of Red Bank, TN. Frankie is also survived by her sister, Merle Penney Thompson, Panama City, FL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mosie and Goldie Penney, brothers Ralph, Robert and Harold Penney and sister Mildred Hale.
Service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, with Minister Bill Greer officiating. Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a private burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery on a later date.
