  [S16] Obituary. Whalen, Erica Thursday, December 6, 2001 Erica Christy Whalen, 25, of Soddy-Daisy, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, from the results of an auto accident. Ms. Whalen was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She was a member of the Kidney Foundation and the Lupus Foundation. She was active in the fight against kidney disease after surviving two kidney transplants. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Earl Lewis. Survivors include her parents, Patrick Lee and Linda Gail Lewis Whalen; sisters, Amanda Whalen of Soddy-Daisy and Tera Damon of Dalton, Ga.; grandmother, Joyce Rothwell of Harrison; grandparents, Jim and Gloria Whalen of Soddy-Daisy; great-grandmother, Zora Whalen of Soddy-Daisy; one nephew; several aunts; uncles; and cousins. Funeral service and entombment will be 10 a.m. on Friday at the Chapel of Devotion, Hamilton Memorial Gardens, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 620 Cherokee Blvd., Chattanooga, TN 37405. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153.
