Benjamin E. Heath, 85, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his home. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of WWII and was one of the liberators of Guam. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps League, a life time member of the Tennessee Railroad Museum, a volunteer at Erlanger’s Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit, bottle feed baby kittens at the Pet Placement Center, and a member of the Chattanooga Stamp Club. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Heath, parents, Benjamin and Esther Heath, and a brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Diana Heath, sons, Dwight Heath of East Ridge, Rick and David Heath of Cincinnati, OH., daughter, Faith (Stephen) Armstrong of Amelia, OH., brother, Earl Richard Heath of Brainerd, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his precious cats, Maxine, Myah, Rosie, Dumpling, and Baby.
Graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother Michael Turner officiating with military honors.. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
