  [S16] Obituary. July 31, 1920 - May 5, 2010 Ovaleen Coleman Penney passed from this life Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the home of her daughter & caregivers Patsy & Richard Jones. Better known as Tootsie, she was 89, born July 31, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents, Georgie Smith & Amos Coleman, her daughter, Sandra Newell Laymon, her husband of twenty-five years, Clifford Penney, a step-granddaughter, Rhonda Levi; also by all of her siblings except for a sister, Faye Coleman Hickman of Southgate, Michigan. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Richard) Jones, her son, Kurt (Ailene) Laymon; grandson, Rick (Tonja) Jones; granddaughter, Lisa (Mitchell) McClendon; step-grandsons, Joe (Wilma) Laymon, Dwayne (Stacy) Laymon; step-granddaughter, Terrie (David) Neighbors; special great-grandsons, Colton Jones & Jonathan Laymon and several other great-grandchildren as well as several nieces & nephews. Ovaleen has said good-bye to most of her oldest and closest friends except for a dear friend, Blanche Uren. She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church most of her life and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. The family would like to thank a special friend, Lisa Keith, for her caring advice during the final days. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Bishop Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ware Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. Friday.
