Marvin Ford
Marvin Henry Ford, 70 of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in an area hospital.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Marvin retired from Combustion Engineering after many years of service. He was the Past Master twice at Soddy Lodge 418 F&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite Society. He held dual membership at Hixson Lodge 727 F&AM. Marvin was an honorary member of Masonic Lodges, Harrison 114, East Lake 698, Sale Creek 280, Whitwell 563, Brainerd 736, Lookout Valley 673, Daisy 706, Cleveland 134 and Signal Mountain 758 and a member of Daisy OES Chapter 328.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ruth Ford; and brother, Gordon Ford.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Martha Chumney Reed Ford, of Soddy-Daisy; son, Marvin Kenneth Ford, of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Kimberly Lee Ann Gay, of Englewood, Tenn., and Kathy Lynn Street, of Soddy-Daisy; sisters, Leona Perkins, Betty Capehart and Lavenna Wilson; grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, Trent, Alex and Eli.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Sam Phillips officiating. A Masonic service will follow the funeral service in the chapel.
Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Trent Gay, Tyler Gay, Alex Ford, Eli Ford, Raymond Reed and Jesse Reed serving as pallbearers.
Military honors will be conducted at the graveside.
