Ray (Junior) Cox, 84, of Soddy-Daisy, was carried away to heaven on Friday, March 16, 2012 by a band of angels, surrounded by family and friends. He was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Combustion Engineering. One could always find Junior fishing or hunting with family and loved ones in the Telico Plains, where we spent our summers surrounded by nature and God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Margaret Cox, son, David Ray Cox, parents, George and Leila Callahan Cox, brothers and sisters, Edward Cox, George Russell Cox, Arthur Cox, Lucille Moon, Mary Talaska, Helen Cox, Marie Cox.
He is survived by her daughter, Patsy “Pat” (Herbert) Brown, sister, Norma Jean Clift, grandchildren, Susan Mitchell, Ginger Brown, Michael and Julie Brown, Jennifer and Thomas Parker and Adam and Johnnie Cox, great-grandchildren, Kaylee Brown, Ethan Mitchell, Carter and Lila Brown, Rylee and soon to be Liam Parker, Tara Cox, Jessica Thomas Cox.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Grant Chauncey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. Family will receive friends from 1-4 & 6-9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
