Penney - G. L. 'Fayette', 81 of Soddy, died Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in aChattanooga hospital. He was a member of Soddy Methodist Church.Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Robinson Penney, Soddy; three brothers, JessPenney, Soddy, Wilburn Penney, Clearwater, Florida, and James Penney,Greensboro, North Carolina; four sisters, Mrs. Julis Worley, Mrs. AttiePainter, Mrs. Blanche Abernathy, all of Soddy; Mrs. Lena Slatten,Greensboro; stepmother, Mrs. Cass James, Soddy; several nieces andnephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at theSoddy Methodist Church, the Reverend Carl Athearn and E. C. Tranthamofficiating. Interment will be in Union Fork Cemetery. Activepallbearers will be Roy Pendergrass, John Lynch, Dillard Crawford, OtisMoore, Johh McGill, Bill Varner; honorary, Tom Roberts, Jim Varner, FloydVarner, Ben Hall, Robert Settles, Paul McGill, Fred Skillern, JeromeHixson and members of the Men's Class of the Soddy Methodist SundaySchool of the Soddy Methodist Church. The body is at the funeral home.Arrangements by Williamson Funeral Home, Soddy.
