J.H.STRAUSSBERGER DIES AT HOME HERE
Was Head of Textile Concern Recently Completed Tour of Europe
John H. Straussberger, 41, president of Textile Consultant and Service Company here, died at 12:30 p.m. yesterday at hia home, 2310 Chamberlain Avenue. He had been ill only a short time. Mr, Straussberger came to Chattanooga several years ago as the southern representative of Alfred Hofmann, Inc., of West New York, N. J. Before that time he was connected with Julius Kayser Company of New York. He was a member of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. He returned only three months ago from an extended tour of Europe, during which he became ill. Mr. Straussberger is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elisa Straussberger; two sons, John and Alfred Straussberger; sister, Mrs. Greta Kramer, Brooklyn, N. Y. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the National Funeral Home, the Rev. R. C. Jahn officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be C. H. Hassig, John Meyer, C. F. Black, W. O. - McMillan, Alvin Pfitzer, Kurt Esche. Honorary pallbearers will be Bartow Strang, P. J. Schoenster, P. J. Kent, George B. Smith, A. M. Brvan and Henry Bryan.
