Penney - Will W. , 70, of 3111 Dodds Ave., died unexpectedly Fridaymorning in a local hospital. Mr. Penney, a lifelong resident of HamiltonCounty, was the son of the late Joe I. and Nancy Jane Spradling Penney.He was a retired employee of Combustion Engineering, Inc. Mr. Penney wasa member of the East Lake Baptist Church and of the Roy Wyrick SundayScohhl Class. He held membership in the East Lake Masonic Lodge 698 andin the Eastern Star Chapter 238.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Ruby Bennefield Penney,Chattanooga; two daughters, Mrs. Billie Jane Redden and Mrs. CathleenRedden, both of Soddy, Tennessee; two stepdaughters; Mrs. Charline Hill,Harriman, Tennessee and Mrs. Pauline Brooks, Decatur, Tennessee; twostepsons, Billy Brooks and Lloyd Brooks, both of Wilmington, NorthCarolina; two brothers, Ray Penney and Ed Penney, both of Chattanooga;four sisters, Mrs. Flora Smith, Chattanooga, Mrs. Anderson Green, Soddyand Mrs. Cleo Lee and Mrs. Andrew Chapin, both of Lansing, Michigan; and14 grandchildren. The body is at Turner Funeral Home. Arrangements willbe announced.
