Charles E. Carlisle, 80, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away March 18, 2011. He was a member of Dividing Ridge Church of God but he attended Daisy Church of God. He was a jack of all trades. He collected and repaired knives. He loved everyone and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Winnie Carlisle, son, Kenneth Carlisle, daughter, Carolyn Thomas, and brother, David Carlisle.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Jo Carlisle, son, Charles R. Carlisle, brother, Robert “Bob” Carlisle, sisters, Margaret Tanner and Freida Nance, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grand children, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel with Bishop Sam Phillips and Rev. Wilburn Hardyman officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
