ames Ray Pippin, 73, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was a retired Chattanooga Fireman after 28 years of service, he was the former owner of Ray’s Towing Service in Red Bank for twenty years and he was a dirt track racer for twenty five years driving the #76 car. Ray was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.
His father, James William Pippin, his mother, Treva Pippin Hamill, step-father, Alfred Hamill and a sister, Jo Rooks, preceded him in death.
Ray is survived by his wife, Pam McGill Pippin; son, Danny (Anna) Pippin of Hixson; brother, William (Shirley) Pippin of Red Bank, sister, Shirley Massengale of Red Bank; two grandchildren, Layla and Rayce Pippin and several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Evans and Rev. Bryan Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
