James Keith “Sonny” Stout, Sr., 86, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014. A native of Kentucky, he lived in Soddy-Daisy most of his life and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Sonny served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Chris-Craft Boat Company. Sonny was a dedicated family man. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haywood and Sally Stout and siblings, Haywood Stout, Jr. and Jean Keesee.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruby Stout; son, James Keith “Jim” Stout, Jr. (Doris); daughters, Sharon Christy, LeAnn Stout and Terri Ferry (Dan); sisters, Mary Lou Wilson (Bobby) and Ruth Varner; grandchildren, Tyler Stout, Alicia Kinsey (Brad), Andrew Stout, Austin Stout, Garrett Ferry (Carah), Maia Aultman (Justin) and Raven Christy; great grandchildren, Ayla Aultman and Jackson Kinsey and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Haynes officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
