January 1, 1942 - January 30, 2014
Dorothy LeVan Conner, 72 of Hixson passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her residence. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Dorothy was born to make everyone happy which she accomplished so well. She never met a stranger and lived to help those that were in need. She accepted Christ as her savior when she was eleven years old at Friendship Baptist Church and was then baptized in Soddy Lake. She devoted her life to her family and especially Grandma Westbrook. Dorothy graduated from Hixson High School in 1959 where she enjoyed marching in the band. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 45 years. Dorothy served in Children's Ministry with her husband for 35 years.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Oscar Conner; son, Scott Conner; daughter, Jamie Allison Conner; granddaughter, Hope Conner all of Hixson; brother, Michael (Janie) LeVan, Maryville, TN; sisters, Jimmie Lou LeVan (Wayne) Sims, Chattanooga, Clarice LeVan (Bill) Hartman, Hixson, Anna LeVan (Harold) Knowles, Lynchburg, VA; and nine nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Cape officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope Aglow Prison Ministries, P.O. Box 10157, Lynchburg, VA 24506.
The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 P.M. Saturday at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
