January 10, 1916 - November 2, 2010 Julia Lee Springfield, age 94, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 with her family by her side. “Mah-Maw,” as she was affectionately known to everyone, was and always will be the heart and soul of our family. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. “Hab” Springfield; daughter, Barbara Ann Collins and a great-grandson, Shane Sutherland. She was a member of the Daisy united Methodist church for seventy-three years and worked many tireless hours quilting and volunteering for the church. She was an excellent seamstress and was always there for anyone that needed her. She was best known for her cooking. Some of her best dishes were her fried okra, pinto beans (green bowl), macaroni & cheese, pimento cheese, banana pudding and her famous chocolate cakes with her peanut butter icing. She is survived by forty-two decedents, daughter, Gayle (Clyde) Cooper from Soddy-Daisy, TN; son, Thom (Cindy) Springfield from Greenville, TN; sister Cleo (Ira) Davis from Ider, AL; ten grandchildren, Mike (Sable) Sutherland, Ringgold, GA, Cindy McBrayer, Sevierville, TN, Marsha Davis, Soddy-Daisy, TN, Sheron (Morgan) Duckworth, Sevierville, TN, Carla Lewis, Chattanooga, TN, Charmaine Yount, Soddy-Daisy, TN, Case (Donna) Springfield, New Port News, VA, Annette (Tim) Smith, Soddy-Daisy, TN, Chad (Aundra) Collins, Soddy-Daisy, TN, Doug Springfield, Aiken, SC; nineteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren, who all loved her very much. The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. Wednesday. Chad Collins, Adam Sutherland, Bill Sutherland, Shay Davis, Josh Davis, Brian Smith, Andrew Springfield & Philip Z. McBrayer will be serving as pallbearers.
