June 6, 1943 - October 12, 2011
Blaine Edward Hartley, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He was born in Doeville, Tennessee to Blaine Hartley and the late Cora June Pleasant Hartley. Blaine’s son, Roy Blaine Hartley, also preceded him in death. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN. and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from T.V.A. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of the Hixson Masonic Lodge #727 F&A.M. and the Chattanooga Scottish Rite Society. Blaine was a former C.B. member with the handle “Mechanic”. He built his first car engine by the age of 14. An avid bowler, he was the past secretary of several bowling leagues. Special thanks to all with Hospice of Chattanooga for their compassion and dedication during this time.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Elizabeth Diane “Ann” Hartley; daughters, Margaret Sue Davis and husband Ken with their children, Matthew and Heather Davis all of Hixson, Georgianna Fox and Richard Orona of Texas,Yvonne Tipton and husband Mike and their children, Sydney Tipton his golf cart driver and Pete Tipton; son, Tracy White and wife Rachel of Cleveland; former daughter-in-law, Angie and his granddaughter, Elise; adopted sons, Tommy Hartley, Butch Hartley and Timmy Hartley; father, Blaine Hartley; sisters, Barbara Shipley and husband Ron of Huntersville, North Carolina, Evelyn Hawk and husband Clayton of Elizabethton, Tennessee; brother, Gale Hartley and wife Leslie of Jamestown, Tennessee along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gale Hartley officiating with Masonic services to follow. Burial will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
