  [S16] Obituary. February 21, 1928 - October 11, 2006 Mary Evelyn Parker, 78, of went home to be with the Lord, October 11, 2006 after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County. Raised in Soddy-Daisy, moving to the city in the early 60’s. She was born February 21, 1928 to the late Robert Anderson and Mary Catherine Smith. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church, enjoying singing in the choir as well as solos in her younger days. A very hard working, Godly Mother, She retired from 3M, after working all her adult life. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of over forty years, Henry Parker, five sisters, Hazel Smith, Anna Beck, Grace Varner, and Sarah Gasaway; four brothers, Roy, George, Harold and Ralph Smith. She is survived by five daughters, Peggy J. Singleton (Jimmy), Florida, Helen Case (Jim), Linda McDougal (Billy Joe), Betty Massengale (Clifford), Rose Elizabeth Webb (Ernest), all of the Chattanooga area; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Mosier officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Visitation is 11:00 TO 9:00 Friday, October 13, 2006. Pallbearers will be Don, Gene & Justin Smith, Wayne Randy & Chris Belk. Five adult girls have lost the twine that binds and their Prayer Warrior.
