    Allen Joel 'Joe' Penney, 64, of Chattanooga died March 9, 2001 at hishome. Mr. Penney is a Marine Corps veteran, a member of the VFW Post4848 and was a butcher for several grocery stores in the Chattanoogaarea. Survivors include a daughter, Jannelle Pankiw, Maryland; sons,Allen Penney, Jr., North Carolina, and Benjamin Penney, Illinois;sisters, Judy Hardy, Chattanooga, Agnes Penney, Chattanooga, Lou EllenSmith and Pat Wilkey, both of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Clinton Penney andErnest Penney, both of Chattanooga, and Jerry Penney, Soddy-Daisy; andfive grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Williamsonand Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Shirley officiating. Intermentwill be in National Cemetery. Visitation will be today after 4 p.m. andSunday after 10 a.m.

Mr. Penney was a member of Boilermakers Local 656 and a retiredcrane operator with Combustion Engineering, Inc. Survivors include hiswife, Mrs. Beatrice Ford Penney, Soddy; four sons, Allen, Clinton, Ernestand Jerry Penney, all of Hixson; four daughters, Mrs. Agnes Baggett andMrs. Judy Hardy of Chattanooga, Mrs. Lou Smith and Mrs. Pat Perrin, bothof Soddy; sister, Mrs. Sarah Mysinger, Soddy; 11 grandchildren, twogreat-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be heldat 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend CharlesThompson officiating. Burial will be in Wilcoxen Cemetery with nephewsserving as pallbearers.
