Penney - Funeral services for Mrs. Delphia Guire Penney, 71, of Rt. 3,Hixson, Tennessee, the widow of Albert Penney, who died Friday morning,will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of the J. AveryBryan Funeral Home. Dr. Harold Lester officiating. Mrs. Penney was anative of Chattanooga. She was retired employee of Cobble Muse HosieryMills. Mrs. Penney attended the Church of God. Her survivors in includea daughter, Mrs. Velma Blaylock, Hixson, Tennessee, four sons, EvanPenney, Soddy; James and Grady Penney, Hixson, and Calvin Penney,Chattanooga; two sisters, Mrs. Della Howard, East Ridge, and Mrs. EmmaRaines, Dublin, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and several nieces andnephews. Interment in Hamilton Memorial Garden. The body is at the J.Avery Bryan Funeral Home, 747 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga.

Delphia married Albert Grant Penney in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Albert (son of Christopher Columbus Penney and Sarah Clementine Thomas) was born on 25 Jan 1895 in Hamilton County, Tennessee; died on 18 May 1966 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee; was buried on 20 May 1966 in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
